PUPPY PLUNGE!

On Sunday, August 24, 2013, the SPCA of Anne Arundel County will hold the 3rd Annual Puppy Plunge at the beautiful and scenic Camp Letts in Edgewater, Maryland from 12 PM to 4 PM.

Last year, over 1,300 supporters with their four-legged companions attended this highly anticipated event.

This fun-filled event will be packed with live music, demonstrations, an array of vendors, great food, a children’s area, and so much more!

By popular demand, the dog bikini contest will be followed by the best trick and best pooch smooch contest! We’d also like to introduce our very own puppy pie eating contest for the big and small, so don’t miss out on the action! Most importantly, the dogs will have a blast taking the “plunge” into the river on either Muscle Beach (for bigger dogs) or our Petite Beach (for smaller dogs).

For this year’s event, we added more fun-filled activities for you and your family. Participants (dogs) will gather on the beach and then run full speed ahead into the Rhode River to demonstrate their owner’s commitment to helping the animals at the SPCA. Any donation of $40 or more will receive a SPCA Puppy Plunge t-shirt (while supplies last)!

The SPCA of Anne Arundle County provides shelter and humane car for homeless animals in need and work as advocates for animal welfare in our community.

Money generated and donated during this event helps cover shelter expense, adoption fees and many other services the SPCA offers throughout the year.

Registering ahead of time will give us an idea of how many we expect to have for each contest.  Contest entries will be accepted up to 10 minutes prior to each individual contest. You won’t want to miss these events!

Employee Spotlight: Ms. Elaine Braus

Meet Ms. Elaine Braus.  She is our Sales Consultant here at The Car Center of Glen Burnie, located in Glen Burnie, Maryland.  Elaine has been with us for exactly one year and seven months. When you meet Elaine you will quickly see that she strives to earn her customers trust and develop long lasting business relationships for a lifetime.

Although fairly new to the automotive industry, Ms. Braus has had a lot of experience in Sales and Customer Service. Her vast knowledge comes from her prior experience as a manager of a convenience store for over 10 years.

Not only has Elaine had sales experience within and out of the automotive industry, she has also earned a paralegal degree.  This translates well to her customer philosophy.  Elaine is fully dedicated to her customers and believes that if she takes care of her customers before, during, and after the sale she will not only earn their business but their family and friends business for a lifetime.

When asked what she likes most about working at the Car Center of Glen Burnie, she states “There are so many great things, but my co-workers are my favorite!  They keep me laughing and for the most part they are very helpful.”

Employee Spotlight: Mr. Wilson Leroy Gilbert

Meet Mr. Wilson Leroy Gilbert.  He is our Senior Sales Consultant here at the Car Center of Glen Burnie, located in Glen Burnie, Maryland.  He has been with us since 2012.  Mr. Gilbert has been in the automotive industry for over 25 years with the majority of his positions in sales.  Mr. Gilberts enthusiasm, vast knowledge of the automotive industry, passion for treating his customers fairly and including them in The Car Center of Glen Burnie’s Family,  stems from his philosophy of family first.

Mr. Gilbert devotes most of his free time to family.  He is the primary caregiver of his elderly father.  When he isn’t doing that, he spends time watching sports with his identical twin brother who also happens to be his best friend!  Mr. Gilbert also has plenty of nieces and nephews. They keep him very busy but he states that he “Loves them to death.”

Mr. Gilbert is as devoted to his customers as of his family. He prides himself on providing the Best Sales Experience possible.  He believes that you should “Treat your customers the way you want to be treated.”  It also means the world to see his customers happy.  “Seeing my customers happy means more that money to me because people come first.”

The Car Center of Waldorf IT Director, Mike Fitzgerald spent an afternoon with The Humane Society of Charles County to help promote The Dog Gone Easter Hunt. The visit consisted of taping the directors of the Charles County Humane Society to discuss The Dog Gone Easter Event.  He also taped pet adoption videos for which he volunteers every month to help friendly and adorable puppies, dogs, kittens, cats, and pocket pets find a loving and responsible home and family!
